About the author

Hi, I’m Luba- a teacher and writer from London. I’ve always loved literature and travel, both of which inspired me to write my debut children’s book. I’ve used my maternal heritage as inspiration for A For Africa: S For Sierra Leone and I’m so pleased it’s finally been brought to life! From an early age, I loved curling up with a good book, getting lost in powerful stories and dreaming about embarking on worldwide adventures. Through A For Africa, I hope to spark that seed of curiosity in young readers.
My career as a Primary School Teacher has given me a deeper insight into the importance of literacy and ensuring that all children have access to a diverse range of quality texts. It has been a pleasure working with young people and seeing them delight in the wonders of the world. Through this book, I hope to contribute to the diverse range of children’s literature emerging from the UK. Using the letters of the alphabet, readers can discover fascinating facts about this incredible country and explore the rich history of this amazing continent. I can’t wait to continue writing more books that celebrate the countries and cultures of Africa, a continent so dear to me.
